Getting Started

Logging In

Navigate to the Polimap URL and log in with your email and password. Your account is created by an administrator — if you don't have one, contact your organisation's Polimap admin.

The Interface

After logging in, you'll see the main map view with several key areas:

• Top navigation bar — switch between Query (map view), Insight, Reports, Import/Export, and Tickets
• Query panel (left side) — build map layers by selecting geography, regions, display level, and datasets
• Map (centre) — interactive map showing your data as coloured regions
• Layer list (below the query panel) — manage your active layers, toggle visibility, rename, or remove them

Your First Layer

1. In the query panel, select a Geography (e.g. "State")
2. Choose one or more Regions (e.g. "Victoria")
3. Pick a Display Level (e.g. "CED" for federal electorates)
4. Select a Dataset (e.g. a census indicator or election result)
5. Press Add Layer (or Shift+Enter)

The map will colour the regions according to your chosen dataset. Hover over a region to see its value.
